The long-standing CEO and President of the uvex safety group , Frank Seuling, is leaving the Fürth-based family business to pursue new challenges. Overall responsibility for the direction of the uvex safety group will be assumed by Board members Stefan Brück, Peter Buschmann and Stefan Wehner with immediate effect.
Fürth, 10 June 2010 – Frank Seuling is leaving uvex after 18 years of significant and successful contribution to the development of the uvex safety group. This decision follows a difference of opinion on future strategy between the Shareholders of the uvex group and Mr Seuling and has been reached amicably and with mutual consent.
Frank Seuling joined the company in 1992 and as CEO of the uvex safety group for the last eight years, he has been responsible for the highest revenue generating business activity within the uvex group. He led the strategic repositioning of the company as a “brand systems provider with manufacturing expertise” and successfully established the brand as a true innovation leader in the safety industry . In parallel, he focused on the on-going Internationalisation of the company through the formation of numerous subsidiaries, the development of expertise in new product groups and services and the modernisation of uvex manufacturing facilities. His leadership of the vital IQ8 programme of sustainable innovation, has been pivotal to the company’s success.
Frank Seuling represented the company on various Business and Institutional committees and has supported the German interest group for Personal Protective Equipment (Interessenverbund Persönliche Schutzausrüstung e.V.) as a member of the Management Board. He was recently elected as Chairman of the Advisory Council and President of A+A, the world’s largest and most important trade fair in the areas of safety, security and health at work, but will now be standing down from this appointment.
In addition to his responsibilities within the uvex safety group, Frank Seuling was a member of the Management Board of uvex Winter Holding GmbH & Co. KG for the past eight years and in this role , he decisively influenced the positive development of the group.
To ensure continuity of the uvex safety group’s strategic direction and to keep the company on its successful path, the existing team of Board Members, Stefan Brück, Peter Buschmann and Stefan Wehner will assume responsibility for the uvex safety group.
All three senior executives have worked with the company for many years and their contributions have been instrumental to the company’s enviable track record of success. They have extensive experience in both the National and International occupational health and safety markets and will share equally the responsibilities of managing the company on the basis of a collegiate structure.
Stefan Brück has been appointed to the position of Group Managing Director and will chair the senior management team. In his time at uvex, he has successfully managed and developed the company’s International business and the vitally important Strategic Business Unit for Head protection products which comprises eye, hearing,, head and breathing product groups.
