Back in 1980, Rainer Winter, President of the uvex group, set himself a goal – to provide swift and unbureaucratic help for needy, sick and disabled children all over the world. From that day to this, he has remained true to his objective.
His approach was to set up the RAINER WINTER FOUNDATION, a public law foundation headquartered in Fürth, Germany.
The RAINER WINTER FOUNDATION is a strictly not-for-profit organization and is keen to distance itself from the kinds of anonymous foundation that are common, for example, in Liechtenstein. When it comes to the organization’s purpose and monetary expenditure, the RAINER WINTER FOUNDATION is proud of its enduring tenets of openness and transparency. Indeed, these qualities are firmly enshrined in the Foundation’s constitution.
Social responsibility is a very important concept, particularly in today’s world.
In Germany, the number of children and adolescents living on the edge of society has now reached an alarming 20%. Broken families and desperate poverty for which they bear no blame mean these young people no longer possess the necessary resources to be able to participate fully in society. As a result they withdraw, become a fringe group, and often fail to gain any educational qualifications. That is one of the projects to which the RAINER WINTER FOUNDATION is committed.
Additionally, the RAINER WINTER FOUNDATION may also make one-off financial allocations to specific causes (e.g. in the event of a natural disaster, famine etc). It may agree to sponsorships, or send contributions to other organizations whose work directly supports needy children.
Without fail, the Foundation’s goal is to be able to direct 100% of funds donated to the intended purpose. Since almost all of the Foundation’s administrative costs are borne by the founder’s company, it has virtually no overhead expenses. For more information on the Foundation’s projects, please go to:
